Todd came home for the weekend on a very last-minute spontaneous decision. We had a great time with him. The kids loved being with Dad and we made the most of every minute! He had lots of cuddles, hugs and kisses from Brian and Samantha, and of course from Mom, too.
We all went together to the Park, the Beach, and the Mall to ride the 'really really big fast train', and the kids enjoyed it all. We especially had fun splashing in the water at the beach and making cool castles with a big moat and river that ran back into the water. Brian and Samantha love to go swim with Dad. Samantha has especially taken to the water, like her big brother did, and we had a hard time getting her out when the wind picked up and it started to rain a bit.
I especially had a really nice time, as we had Dad all to ourselves. No text books or reading assignments to compete with, no deadlines to meet or papers to write. He even was able to take the kids on one of their memorable walks around the neighborhood. It was truly wonderful. It was difficult for all of us to say goodbye.
